Welcome to the first of our occasional (until nearer the event) Newsletters.
First: we do hope you have been out enjoying the lovely sunny weather and walking, walking, walking! As we are writing this in mid July it has just started raining here in North Wales, that's why it's so lovely and green here I guess! We'd like to say a massive thank-you to everyone who joined us for our 6th Llangollen Walking Festival 2018. The weather was kind and the company was good. TO START: in 2019 all our walks will start from the Cottage Tea Rooms & Bistro in Castle Street (the High Street to you and me) lots of Yummy food and lovely coffee too... more news to come.
At the end of May we were guiding for the Malvern Walking Festival in Worcestershire, it was great to hook-up with some familiar faces from Llangollen and discover how much you enjoyed our walks and the goody-bags too.
HURRAH! those very nice people at Wrexham Lager have already said they will again supply us with their lovely Wrexham Lager for our 2019 long walks... what lovely chaps they are. Do visit their web site and read their fascinating story.
A REALLY BIG THANK YOU to David Crane and the Llangollen Museum for providing us all with the really interesting Llangollen Walking Guide Books -
Thank you! |
We have some very interesting and exciting plans for 2019 when you join us in the beautiful Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Beauty (AONB) and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct World Heritage Site.

If you joined our 'long walks' with Mike you may have noticed him carrying LEKI Walking Poles should anyone wish to borrow them. Some walking guests have borrowed the poles and gone-on to buy them having discovered the huge benefits to be gained by using them especially on the steep climbs.
FREE Nordic Walking is back again in 2019 supported by LEKI. |
During June we were guiding for Secret Hills Walking Holidays in the Italian Dolomites… truly fantastic mountain walking,
join-us there next year from 28th June 2019. When in North East Wales you really must try the wonderful locally made Chilly Cow Ice Cream... YUM, YUM!
Gales Wine Bar and Hotel - whether you are eating, drinking and/or sleeping do check-out the quirky (in the nicest possibly way) Gales Wine Bar in Bridge Street, Llangollen… they're a local institution.
We are delighted to announce that Cambrian Savings & Loans, a local business serving the local community will again be supporting our festival in 2019. Go to there web site to find-out what makes them different!
