WILDERNESS WALK, TRAIN RIDE FREE WREXHAM LAGER 15 miles CHALLENGING Price £18 including Train Fare Meet - 8.00am to start at 8.30am at the Cottage Tea Room & Bistro 5 Castle Street, Llangollen LL20 8NY ON ROUTE: we start the long steady climb (known locally as Heart Attack Hill) out of the Dee Valley on to the moorland wilderness with wide reaching views (weather permitting). Underfoot the paths are generally good. STURDY WATERPROOF FOOTWEAR: is strongly advised FOOD: bring drinks, snacks / packed lunch enough for a full day out WEATHER: keep an eye on the weather in the days leading-up to the walk, a waterproof jacket and trousers are recommended DOGS: are welcome; however, the owner(s) must take care of their dog's every need(s) and (as it is lambing time and ground nesting birds are still on their nests) dogs must be kept on a lead. Start at 8.30am - This walk starts with a steepish climb, four stiles in quick succession then a long gradual climb out of the valley however, there is only one other noticeable short climb other on the route. We take-in some of most important and sensitive upland, moorland wilderness in North Wales offering wide reaching views of the Llantysilio and Berwyn Mountains, River Dee Valley, Clwydian Range and Snowdonia. Our trek takes us 15 miles to Corwen (or Carrog depending on whether the track repairs are completed) Steam Railway Station to catch the Steam Train back to Llangollen. You'll have a 30 to 50 minute nostalgic ride, you can just sit-back and watch the beautiful Dee Valley and river go by. We aim to finish back in Llangollen where you will collect your: FREE WREXHAM LAGER and certificate of achievement.
